Shital S. Chatwani, O.D. F.A.A.O.

As a graduate of renowned Indiana University School of Optometry, Dr. Chatwani completed her Residency at the top-ranked UC Berkeley School of Optometry and specialized in Contact Lens and Low Vision care. During her Residency, Dr. Chatwani served as a Clinical Instructor at UC Berkeley and the California School for the Blind. Dr. Chatwani also worked at Eye Physicians of the East Bay, a leading Ophthalmology practice in Oakland, CA. She also served as an Associate at Livermore Optometry Group for five years.

In addition to working in the office, Dr.Chatwani currently serves as the official EYE DOCTOR to the Oakland Athletics and enjoys seeing the players and attending spring training.

Dr. Chatwani's experience includes:

•  Primary Eye Care-Complete eye care services for adults & children, including emergency services.
•  Contact lens fitting & Training- Expertise in soft & rigid contact lens fittings, Keratoconus treatment, post-surgical and multi-focal contact lenses.
• Certified in Myopia control for children using overnight orthokeratology treatment CRT lenses and soft ortho-K treatment options
•  Low Vision- Low vision evaluation and device recommendation.
•  Disease Management- Testing for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration & diabetes management.
•  LASIK & Cataract Co-management- Collaboration with leading Ophthalmologists for pre- and post-operative care.

Dr. Chatwani and her husband, Robert, have two daughters named Diya (13), Shreya (10) and a son, Niyam (8) Together they enjoy play dates at the park, travel, and lots of swimming.

Stephanie Kwan, O.D.

Dr. Stephanie Kwan has been practicing optometry for over 16 years.  She is a California native  who grew up in Fremont, California.  She then moved to Southern California where she graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara.   

Although she attended college with the intention of majoring in marine biology, she became passionate about helping others with their visual needs.  Growing up, Dr. Kwan struggled with double vision and focusing issues.  She was also diagnosed with a learning disability due to poor visual perceptual skills.  Fortunately, she was helped by a developmental optometrist and went from having difficulty in school to succeeding.  During her time at Santa Barbara she volunteered with special needs children and decided to specialize in vision therapy and become a developmental optometrist herself.  She then attended the Illinois College of Optometry.  

Dr. Kwan has provided comprehensive eye care to adults and children in the South and East Bay.  She enjoys working with specialty lenses (such as overnight lenses and custom multi-focal contacts), helping children and adults with vision therapy and providing full scope optometry to her patients.  She loves meeting new patients and takes great pleasure helping them live happier and healthier lives.  

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, sculpting, pressure cooking, and learning about craniosacral therapy.
